how can you tell what valve goes in which hole on the trumpet?
I took out all of my valves to oil them and then i realized that i didn’t know what valve went in what hole… please answer
if you take the valves back out they should each have a number engraved on them (possibly quite small), usually 1, 2 and 3.
1 goes in closest to the mouthpiece, 3 closest to the bell. if there’s no numbers its a case of trial and error. ie, trade them around until it works again (making sure there all facing the right way).
just a tip, its best to oil the valves while their still partially inside the casing. (less chance of scratching them and avoids this problem)
